Program

Co-organized by the Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung Berlin and the Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte Berlin.

Assuming that film is a major cultural actor, not (or at least not always) a passive "reflection" of processes and ideas that take place in the societies in which it is produced, this series wishes to explore how movies display, perform, represent, elaborate and discuss scientific theories (and, often, related practices).
Each film will be accompanied by a small selection of relevant texts (distributed in advance), and each session will be followed by a discussion briefly introduced by one of the series participants.
