In June 2015, the successful long-standing cooperation between Ilia State University and the ZfL was consolidated in Tbilisi with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
In recognition of her work in shaping this cooperation, Sigrid Weigel, the director of the ZfL, was awarded the honorary doctorate of the Ilia State University.
