La problemática de la Ilustración y la secularización constituye un campo teórico-conceptual de tensiones en la obra de Walter Benjamin. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas, la atención se ha fijado principalmente en la teología-política y el mesianismo. Este encuentro busca abrir una perspectiva sobre un ámbito no menos fundamental que permite incluso esclarecer los tópicos más transitados del pensamiento de Benjamin.
Este encuentro parte de una iniciativa de la Escuela de Humanidades de la Universidad Nacional de San Martín, el Zentrum für Literatur-und Kulturforschung de Berlín, el Programa de Estudios en Filosofía del Arte del Centro de Investigaciones Filosóficas y el proyecto PIP-CONICET “Walter Benjamin, entre la catástrofe continua y una nueva Ilustración”, radicado en el Instituto Gino Germani de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.

The issue of Enlightenment and secularization constitutes a theoretical-conceptual field of tension in Walter Benjamin's work. However, during the last decades, general attention has been mainly drawn to political-theology and messianism. This meeting’s goal is to give way to a perspective which focuses on a sphere which is not less fundamental and that is even able to clarify some of the most commonly addressed topics of Benjamin's thought.
The meeting is an initiative driven by the School of Liberal Arts of the University of San Martín, the Zentrum für Literatur-und Kulturforschung of Berlin, the Program of Studies on Philosophy of Art of the Center for Philosophical Research y the PIP-CONICET project Walter Benjamin, between constant catastrophe and a new Enlightenment registered at the Gino Germani Institute of the University of Buenos Aires.
