The term “anthropocene“ marks the return of the concept of “human“ to the Humanities, long discredited in the wake of poststructuralism. This volumes examines the contribution that philosophical anthropology can bring to the debate about the anthropocene, it discusses the relationship between the categories of “human,” “anthropos” and “species,” and it examines “negative anthropology” as a possible intermediate position between post- and neo-humanism.
