Corona-Gespräch V – “Wie hat sich das Verhältnis von Virtualität und Präsenz in der Krise gewandelt?”

Venue: Livestream from the Leibniz Hall of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities

Talk with Eva Geulen, Julika Griem, Christoph Markschies, and Claus Pias in the series “Corona-Gespräche” at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities

The Corona crisis has accelerated digital transformation: New virtual forms of work and communication have emerged, schools and universities have moved to digital teaching, and event organizers to online services. What kind of presence is enabled by the virtual?

Also, how is the quality of our life together affected when it takes place in the digital realm? Julika Griem (English and literary scholar, director of the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen), Eva Geulen (literary scholar, director of the Leibniz Center for Literary and Cultural Research) and Claus Pias (media scholar, Leuphana University of Lüneburg) will discuss these issues with Christoph Markschies (President of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities).

You can watch the livestream from 6 p.m. on the day of the event at www.bbaw.de/live.
