Die ontologische Wende
Indigene Kosmologien und die Dekolonisierung des Seins
[The Ontological Turn. Indigenous Cosmologies and the Decolonization of Being]
Indigenous peoples around the world are asserting their rights. They are fighting against colonial exploitation and the institutions, ways of thinking, theories, and practices of a modernity that is increasingly being questioned. The authors of the ontological turn view these struggles as a “cosmopolitan” conflict between worlds that may harbor very different ontologies and natures, rather than merely a clash of cultures. In recent decades, a wide-ranging international debate has emerged regarding the possibility and meaning of such a “pluriverse,” and this volume serves as an introduction to that debate. It features texts by Philippe Descola, David Graeber, Bruno Latour, Isabelle Stengers, Marilyn Strathern, and Eduardo Viveiros de Castro. (publisher’s blurb)
