Zeit der Form – Formen der Zeit
[Time of Form – Forms of Time]
Time is not only an object of representation. It is also a dimension of composing, observing, and interpreting the objects and phenomena of art, culture, nature, and science. Thus, time and form are inextricably linked in these objects and phenomena. At the same time, forms turn out to be necessarily temporal representations and actions in which content is articulated and a non-propositional domain of cultural knowledge of time is expressed. In their formation and aesthetic expression, these proper times have different relationships to the everyday, social, and scientific knowledge of time. They can affirm, reflect, and also deny it.
This volume closely explores this relationship between time and form. The 15 contributions analyze the time constellations that arise from and constitute form processes, the times of form. Furthermore, they investigate the forms of time, the independent time-knowledge of the objects sedimented in their form.
