CV
Eleonora Antonakaki Giannisi is a Ph.D. candidate at the German Department of Northwestern University, where she is also affiliated with the Mellon Critical Theory Cluster. She received her B.A in Theory and History of Art from the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece and her MPhilStud in Philosophy from the Center for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP) at Kingston University, London. She completed her MPhil thesis on the notion of psychical censorship in Sigmund Freud’s early work under the supervision of Étienne Balibar. She has worked for the Public Programs and Exhibition Departments of contemporary art exhibition documenta 14 and has recently been a visiting scholar at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin and the German department of NYU. Her fields of research include modern German philosophy, Marxism, psychoanalytic thought as well as media and digital theory. Her PhD dissertation, supervised by Samuel Weber, is focused on the concept of indifference in its relation to money and technology in the work of Georg Simmel.
