Eva Geulen: Geisteswissenschaften heute: Ihr Sollen, Wollen, Können – und ihr Unvermögen

Lecture as part of the digital lecture series Transfer neu denken. Geistes-, Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften in der Gesellschaft at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, moderated by Isabelle Stauffer

The first part of the lecture will deal, rather theoretically, with the prerequisites of the expectations that are crucial to the question of the social relevance of the humanities today. In the second, more pratical part, case studies of basic research in the humanities will be presented.

The literary scholar Eva Geulen is the Director of the ZfL, executive board member of the Humanities Centers Berlin e.V. (GWZ), and Professor of European History of Culture and Knowledge at the Department of Cultural History and Theory at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
